About Us

The Hairenik Online Radio started experimental broadcasts end of August, 2004 and to operate officially on September 1, 2005.

The response of the Armenian communities all over the world to the launch of the Hairenik Online Radio was overwhelming. What started as a small experimental project reaches today not only the motherland and well established communities but also individual or small groups of Armenians living far away from the "traditional" Armenian community centers: we have received congratulatory emails from as far away as Hong Kong and China.

The unsolicited donations received by the Hairenik Online Radio were another pleasant surprise and an additional proof that the Hairenik Online Radio was appreciated by its listeners. In this respect, we would like to extend our appreciation to the Kazarian Family Foundation, the George and Carolann Najarian Foundation and the Armenian Heritage Cruise Committee members for their donations that enabled us to arm our station with enough technology to ameliorate our broadcasts and undertake additional projects.

The Hairenik Online Radio Station is sponsored by the Armenian Cultural Association of America, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that sponsors cultural activities, research on Armenian topics, grants to Armenian newspapers, publications, internships and many more projects of a cultural nature.

The Hairenik Online Radio broadcasts are prepared at the ACAA IT offices in cooperation with the staff of the Hairenik Association, Inc., publisher of the "Hairenik" Armenian weekly newspaper and "The Armenian Weekly" English newspaper.

Through the launching of the Hairenik Online Radio, the ACAA is trying to launch the Armenian media into the 21st century by adopting new technological means for the preservation and dissemination of the Armenian language and culture.
