Dear Hairenik Web TV team;

   Levon Shant visited America in September 1948 and this film was taken during that visit, which impacted greatly the Armenian-American community. The visit was also successful as a fundraiser. As a result, the Djemaran succeeded in paying the hefty debts it had accrued for the purchase of its building in central Beirut and establish itself as a viable educational establishment. This was a big accomplishment in our life. The story of those days is detailed in the memoirs of one of our teachers Mr. Karnig Panian, recently published in Beirut.

   Congratulations on this important endeavor. We must safeguard our collective memory.
