Rutgers Commemorates Genocide

The Rutgers University Armenian Club held their annual Armenian Genocide Commemoration on April 24. The event was held on the steps across the main student center, the most frequented area on campus.

The commemoration featured two keynote speakers: Dr. Dennis Papazian, who taught Armenian history at Rutgers in the spring of 2007, and Henry Theriault, an associate professor of philosophy at Worcester College.

The program also included student speeches and a candlelight vigil with a minute of silence for the victims.

Afterwards, the documentary film “Screamers” by director Carla Garapedian was shown at a nearby location.
